Scholarships Available to PSLA Students

Brighter Blooms Nursery Scholarship

  • $500 awarded twice a year, July 20th and December 20th
  • Applicants are asked to submit a two-page essay on a past experience in landscaping, horticulture, or the outdoors

Joseph Shinoda Memorial Scholarship

  • A one time award between $1,000-5,000
  • Available to students in floriculture

 East Hartford Garden Club Scholarship

  • A one time award of $1000
  • Must be a resident of Andover, Coventry, East Hartford, Glasonbury, Manchester, East Windsor, West Hartford, Vernon, or Windsor Locks.
  • Available to students in horticulture, plant science, floriculture, conservation, forestry, environmental concerns, botany, landscape architecture, and other allied subjects
  • Deadline: May 1st 2018

The Bartlett Tree Foundation Inc. At-Large Scholarship

  • Two one-time awards of $1000
  • Available to students in CAHNR interested in arboriculture or urban forestry.
  • Awarded by the Bartlett Tree Foundation

American Floral Endowment Scholarship/intern

  • Requires a GPA greater than or equal to a 2.0
  • No previous greenhouse experience is necessary to apply
  • Besides real world experience, for which students will be paid, they will receive scholarship money to assist them with their education upon completing their internships.

Horticulture Scholarship of the Western Reserve Herb Society

  • Apply by February 28th, 2018
  • $7,500 award
  • Open to citizens of the U.S. who have completed the sohpomore year of undergraduate study
  • Need a GPA of 3.2 or above
  • Preference given to applicants who demonstrate exceptional dedication to horticulture and whose career goals may involve work in areas such as teaching/research, the public or nonprofit sector, or sustainable agriculture.

Horticulture Scholarship from Frances Sylvia Zverina

  • Apply by February 28th, 2018
  • $9,000 award
  • Open to citizens of the U.S. who have completed the sohpomore year of undergraduate study
  • Need a GPA of 3.2 or above
  • Preference given to applicants who demonstrate exceptional dedication to horticulture and whose career goals may involve work in areas such as teaching/research, the public or nonprofit sector, or sustainable agriculture.

CAHNR and RHSA Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Complete application by Sunday, February 25th, 2018
  • Must be a full-time CAHNR/RHSA student during 2018-2019 academic year to be eligible

The Fence Authority Scholarship

  • Award of $1,000
  • Applicants must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree related to a profession that is dedicated to improving the beautification of US communities, such as  Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, and Environmental and Marine Sciences
  • Applicants must be currently involved or recently involved in thier community
  • A 300-500 word essay explaining why you chose your major and how you plan to use it to help the community
  • Deadline is June 30th 2018

Joseph Shinoda Memorial Scholarship

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students in an accredited four year college or university
  • Applicants must be either a sophomore, junior, or senior in the next academic year
  • Applicants must be majoring in a degree program related to the field of floriculture
  • Amounts range from minimum of $1,000 up to $5,000
  • Deadline is March 30th 2018

Hach & Rose, LLP Annual College Scholarship

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university
  • Write an essay on the prompt that is provided. Must be under 2500 words.
  • Scholarships amount is $10,000
  • Deadline is May 15, 2018

Top10bestbudget Annual Scholarship Award For 2018

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a college of university
  • Write an essay on the prompt that is provided.  Essay must be between 600-1000 words
  • Applicants must also submit an article from the website
  • Scholarship amount in $1,000
  • Deadline is December 31, 2018

Outer Audio’s Love of Audio Scholarship

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a college of university
  • Write an essay on the prompt that is provided.  Essay must be over 700 words
  • Scholarship amount in $1,000
  • Deadline is December 31, 2018

Stout First Step Scholarship

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university
  • Write an essay on the provided prompt of at least 500 words
  • Scholarship amount is $2,500
  • Deadline is August 1, 2018

Goedeker's Appliances Annual College Book Scholarship

  • Grand Prize of $500, two scholarships of $100 will also be awarded
  • Essay of at least 300 words
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Any student that is enrolled in an accredited college may participate
  • Deadline is July 8th 2018
